16X20 mixed media on canvas, poplar floater frame. I was born in Kansas and have always felt the The Wizard of Oz was my movie growing up. The idea of the ruby slippers being the object that empowered Dorothy, only for her to come to the realization that SHE had held the power all along, has resonated with me from childhood. I played Somewhere Over the Rainbow for a piano recital as a girl in an era where dreams were dreams. Now in the age of positive mindset and learning that limiting beliefs are optional, I've adjusted the lyrics for the title of this piece, yes, you will fly over that rainbow!
